a toy store!

Clothing is neatly
organized and sorted by size (newborn to size 12), and displayed on racks
and tables for easy shopping. There is also a large footwear section,
and expectant moms will find great deals in maternity wear.
About the
Sale:
K-W POMBA's used clothing
and equipment sale occurs twice a year: spring sales are held in APRIL
and fall sales are held in SEPTEMBER.
The sales are a great way for members and the general public to purchase
good quality used clothing, toys, and equipment such as strollers, cribs,
and high chairs at very low prices. It is also an excellent way for members
to get rid of gently used items they no longer use. A portion of the total
sales is retained by K-W POMBA to cover costs in running the sale and
to raise funds to continue to offer programs to its members.
Volunteers
Needed:
The used clothing and equipment
sale is a huge service to the members of K-W POMBA, but without the help
of volunteers the sale would not be a success. You can support K-W POMBA
by selling, shopping, and volunteering at one or all of the upcoming sales.
Sale volunteers working a minimum of 6 hours get to shop early and retain
a larger percentage of their sales. You do not have to be a member to
volunteer at the sale. If
you have friends or family members who can help, please let us know. They
get to shop early if they volunteer. If you know of any high school students
who are looking to fulfill their high school volunteer commitment, let
us know. This type of work qualifies.

Sale
Timetable:
- 7:00 - 7:15 a.m.
- Volunteer sign-in
- 7:15 - 8:00
- Shopping for Working Members (no guests or spouses allowed) and shopping
for Expectant Parents of Multiples (includes families with multiples
6 months old or younger. Expectant mothers or new moms bringing their
babies to the sale may bring in their significant other or 1 helper
to assist them with their shopping).
- 8:30 - 9:00
- Shopping for Non-Working Members and Multiple Births Canada Members
from Sister Clubs (A member is defined as the household for which a
membership has been purchased. During member only shopping, NO non-member
guests are allowed. Membership cards MUST be presented for early entry
into the sale).
- 9:00 - 12:00 noon
- Public sale, $1.00 Admission
- 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
- Clean up
- 1:00 - 2:00 - Pick up of ALL unsold sale items by sellers - no charity delivery/pickup
available.Kindly donate your unwanted items to the charity of your choice.
- If you would like to donate your unsold items, there is a charity pickup on Saturday at 2pm.
Commission
Rate Breakdown:
The amount each seller will
receive from their sales is as follows:
• Working member*
receives 80% of their sales (20% goes to K-W POMBA).
To shop as a working member you must work a minimum of 6 hours and have
a valid club membership.
• Non-working member receives 70% of
their sales (30% goes to K-W POMBA).
• Non-member receives 60% of their sales
(40% goes to K-W POMBA).

REMINDER:
There will be NO DEPOTS again for this sale! All clothing, toys and large items are to be dropped off at Moses Springer Community Centre on Friday April 17th, 2009 between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. No items will be accepted after 7:30 p.m. There will be no large equipment accepted the morning of the sale. All items will be received at the Community Centre. Look for the signs for direction to the appropriate door
Once inside there will be
volunteers to accept your goods and sort them into the different categories
to then be unpacked in the appropriate areas. You are NOT required to
unpack your items.
Just as with the prior depots,
paperwork will need to be completed; a signed clothing and equipment waiver,
an addressed envelope, and the $2 payment.
All of the paperwork will be available at RIM Park or you may print the
waiver (click
here) and bring it with you. If you are having your items
delivered by someone other than yourself, the signed waiver must accompany
your items. Items will not be accepted without the waiver.
Please refer to the updated
rules as to what is acceptable and the proper packing procedures (these
have not changed and are listed below). Any items that are deemed unacceptable
will be returned to you along with any unsold items. A memo will be included
stating why the items were returned.
1.Tag all items with size, price, and seller’s name. Indicate whether you are a working member, member, or non-member. Sizes are Newborn 0-3 months, 3 months, 6 months, 12months, 18 months, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. PLEASE USE COLOURED PAPER for your tags. Also, please ensure that the price is listed on the tags in the upper/far right corner . It is easier to sort afterwards to ensure that correct amounts are tallied

2. If tags are deemed too small, items may not be sold and returned to owner. The minimum size should be 1” by 2” and only attached to items with safety pins. NO STRAIGHT PINS, STAPLES or LABELS, etc that are difficult to remove
3. Tape should only be used on large plastic/metal equipment.
4. Sell items that are in good condition (no stained or torn items) at 1/3 to 1/4 the original cost. Items that are not considered suitable for sale (ie; stained) will be returned with notification of not suitable for sale. NEW $1.00 denominations only please!
**Some suggestions to help your items sell are:
- Ensure equipment is in clean condition with all pieces attached/included
- If battery operated, note “Good working condition” on tags or consider purchasing cheap batteries, ie Dollar store, so toy is operational at the sale.
5. NEW Please consider using your own reusable container, which will be returned to you along with any unsold items. Don’t forget to label your reusable containers and lids!!
6. When packing boxes, please fold clothes by size with sizes separated by bags or paper and indicate each size inside on the outside of the box (or sheet with sizes attached to reusable container). Dress, coats, etc. can be brought on hangers.
7. **Out of season items will be accepted, space allowing, but be aware that they may not sell and need to be picked up at the end of the sale with all other items.
8. ** NO Helmets.
9.** Given the space limitations of the hall, please consider providing a picture of your item instead of setting the item up in its entirety.
10.Each seller must sign a clothing and/or equipment waiver to acknowledge the Rules and Regulations of the sale, and to release KW-POMBA from all claims of lost, stolen or damaged articles. If no waiver is signed the clothing/item/equipment will not be sold.
11.All sellers to provide $2 when they drop off their items to Moses Springer Community Centre to cover cheque mailing costs. For those who attend the POMBA meeting directly following the Sale, you can pick up your cheque and receive your $2 back. If the cheques are not picked at the meeting they will be mailed after the POMBA meeting
12. KW-POMBA memberships can be purchased at the sale prior to shopping to families of multiples. Members must have membership card to retain the appropriate percentages on sold items.
13. In the best interest of the sale we ask Volunteers to only have their children that are at least 13/14yrs old and in grade 9 attend/volunteer at the sale in order to obtain their volunteer hours for graduation purposes.
