The MBC Board of Directors and Key Volunteers are in the process of making plans for the upcoming 2005 and 2006 conferences. We are currently reviewing the feedback provided at the 2004 Conference, looking at the time remaining to plan the upcoming 2005 Conference and fielding questions from interested members and chapters in hosting these conferences. Keep watching for updates on plans for these conferences.
Preliminary Plans for 2005
MBC is planning a volunteer and chapter development weekend at the Canadian Ecology Centre in Mattawa, Ontario – May 27-28-29, 2005. The theme for this important annual meeting is Back to the Basics which will include workshops and the AGM. This event will also include the celebration of our first annual “National Multiple-Births Awareness Day” - May 28th. MBC chose this site, as it is 20 minutes from where the Dionne Quintuplets were born May 28th, 1934.
Details will follow in a few weeks. Currently, proposed topics include:
- Leadership skills
- Growing your local chapter
- PR and Community Awareness
- Financial Basics
- Organizational Development
- Volunteer Training Tools
- Team Building
- Getting the Most from Your Volunteers
- and opportunities to have fun and bond with others from across Canada
