Thank You Canada’s Multiple-Birth Community!

Wasaga Beach, ONMultiple Births Canada (MBC) is pleased to provide ongoing updates to its members, chapters and colleagues.  Your commitment to Supporting Multiple Births Together is of great importance to Canada’s multiple-birth community.

Chapter Representatives:  Please forward the information below to your Chapter Executive and members.

Thank You Canada's Multiple-Birth Community!

Two days ago MBC sent an urgent message to our members asking for help with media enquiries we were receiving at the MBC Business Office.  To date, this week we have been contacted by almost three dozen journalists across Canada working on behalf of both print and broadcast outlets.  Below you will find links to some of those stories.

MBC thanks the families that stepped forward to talk with the media about their personal multiple-birth stories.  Your selfless gesture has effectively allowed us to help educate Canadians about the risks of multiple-birth pregnancies and the challenges faced by multiple-birth families.

MBC thanks the Advisory Board members who also made themselves available to the media.  Your busy schedules were further burdened by this influx of interest in the multiple-birth community, and yet you graciously made time to share your professional knowledge.

MBC thanks all the Chapters, who were called directly by the media, and for contacting MBC before and after your interviews.  Making sure we speak with one voice for Canada's multiple-birth community is important not just for our members, but all multiple-birth families now and in the future.

MBC also thanks the all the national volunteers who spoke on behalf of Multiple Births Canada...Cheryl Wadasinghe, Lynda Haddon, Diane Myers, Donna Launslager and Gail Moore.

By helping the media to tell their stories we were also able to take the media pressure off this Vancouver family, which is exactly what they needed.  For this reason we again say Thank You!

Multiple Births Canada and Mount Sinai Hospital’s Multiple Birth DVD Project

Multiple Births Canada is pleased to announce that we have forged a partnership with Mount Sinai Hospital to produce an educational video/DVD for parents expecting multiple-birth children.  It is anticipated that this DVD will become a valuable educational resource for prenatal educators, parenting groups, and individual families.  The initial work in the partnership will focus on learner needs assessment to ensure that the DVD content meets the needs of our intended audience, and on fundraising to cover the costs of the DVD development.

If you are interested in making a financial contribution to the project, please forward your cheque to:

   Multiples DVD Project
   Maternal Infant Program
   Mount Sinai Hospital
   600 University Avenue
   Toronto, ON   M5G 1X5

A charitable donation receipt will be made available for all donations.
