Activity Report
Wasaga Beach,
ON: Multiple Births Canada (MBC)
is pleased to provide ongoing updates to its members, chapters and
colleagues. Your commitment to Supporting Multiple Births Together is of
great importance to Canada’s multiple-birth community.

Representatives: Please forward the information below to
your Chapter Executive and members.
This Monthly Activity Report is a new initiative designed to keep
MBC members informed on the work being performed by the Board of Directors on
behalf of all multiple-births individuals, families and supporters in
Canada. Our brief review of
January 2005 does not include the many activities coordinated in the business
office by our Business Services Manager.
- Attended bi-weekly organizational
meetings for Back to Basics
- Attended regular business meetings
on alternate Sunday evenings
- Worked with Diane Myers to submit an
application for funding through the Canadian Volunteer Initiative
- Produced a fundraising/sponsorship
letter and started distributing it nationally. This letter requests donations for Back to Basics and
encourages sponsorship of MBC activities including more discounts for our
members
- Produced a Letter to the Editor and
Media Advisory announcing support from Annette and Cécile Dionne for
National Multiple Births Awareness Day and started distributing nationally
- Created a list of 200 North Bay
businesses and began sending letters requesting support
- Created a pre-awareness initiative
for National Multiple Births Awareness Day. The intent of the Multiple-Births Challenge is to give
media a first-hand experience in the difference between having a singleton
baby and twins
- Continued negotiating with a
potential corporate funding partner
- Continued working with Diane Myers
on the Trillium application for “Building the Future”
- Welcomed two new chapters –
Orangeville & Area and Rainbow District (Sudbury & Area)
- Created a new MBC pin and took
delivery of a reprint of the MBC posters, both are now available for
purchase from the business office
- Welcomed a new advisory board member
– Dr. Audrey Huberman
- Produced Report From National for
Issue-1 2005 of Multiple Moments and completed necessary contributions to
its content.
- Welcomed back a new board member –
Jennifer Dawson
- Joined Volunteer Canada
- Started registering delegates for
Back to Basics
- Worked on programming for Back to
Basics
- Worked on logistics of Back to
Basics with the Canadian Ecology Centre
- Responded to all MBC correspondence
- Addressed the needs of multiples, in
an advocacy role, on the issues of bathing rings and EI parental leave
benefits
- Made contact with Bennett and Gold
to complete our Financial Review Engagement Report
- Worked with the MBC Rep Liaison to
prepare for contacting all the MBC Reps across Canada
