Time Sensitive Response Needed - re National Multiple Births Awareness Day

Wasaga Beach, ON:

Chapter Representatives:  Please forward the information below to your Chapter Executive and volunteers.

PLEASE RESPOND TO THE QUESTIONS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS MESSAGE – Thank you!

National Multiple Births Awareness Day is Fast Approaching!!!

MBC applauds the chapters who have indicated an interest in holding the event simultaneously with sister chapters across Canada on Saturday, May 28th.  It will be thrilling to imagine our multiple-birth community celebrating coast to coast at the same time!

To synchronize your event so that all chapters are speaking to the media, referencing this year’s theme, at the same time, we need you to plan around these times:

This is OUR opportunity to create awareness of the many challenges and unique issues faced by multiple-birth individuals and their families.  In 2005 we will focus on a need for dialogue on current parental benefits for new multiple-birth parents.  This is your chance to add voice to the discussion while creating awareness for your chapter within your community.

To assist you in the planning and delivery of your local event, MBC has developed an event planner package leading you through the steps, making it easier for your chapter to organize something special on May 28th.  Your event need not be big; it can be as uncomplicated as a family hour in the park with cake and balloons.  The goal is to put together a celebration that can be handled effortlessly by your volunteers.  That is why we’ve prepared the package.

Your National Multiple Births Awareness Day Event Planner Package contains:

1.             A basic step-by-step outline.

2.             A sample letter, for your chapter to send to the your council, to have May 28th proclaimed National Multiple Births Awareness Day in YOUR CITY/TOWN.

3.             30 balloons* featuring the MBC National Multiple Births Awareness Day logo.

4.             15 MBC pamphlets*.

5.             Two new MBC pins*.

6.             A sample media invitation to send to your local media to ask for their attendance at your National Multiple Births Awareness Day event.

7.             A list of suggested activities you may want to hold as part of your event.

8.             A template for a National Multiple Births Awareness Day cake design.

9.             A media kit to give to the media on May 28th.

Your cost?  MBC member chapters pay just $40.  Non-member chapters pay $75.  *Includes shipping & extras can be ordered

Orders must be submitted by April 30, 2005.  Email office@multiplebirthscanada.org or call 1-866-228-8824 to find out how to order.  MBC requires a minimum of 10 chapters to order the package for this offer to be valid so we are looking for feedback ASAP.
