Representatives: Please forward the information below to
your Chapter Executive and members.
In just
one month, on May 28th, it will be time for Canada’s multiple-birth
community to celebrate our 2nd Annual National Multiple Births
Awareness Day. This year’s theme is
“Raising
awareness of the unique risks of multiple-birth pregnancies and the post-natal
issues faced by parents and multiples.”
It is hoped that awareness will lead to a better understanding of the needs and
challenges faced by these families.
To
this end, MBC has developed a media kit for chapters and non-affiliated clubs to
distribute to the media on National Multiple Births Awareness Day. This kit complete with media release,
supporting documents and a copy of Multiple Moments is available for $5 per copy
for members, $8 for non-affiliated clubs.
To place your orders call the business office at 1-866-228-8824 or email
office@multiplebirthscanada.org
MBC
is also preparing a list of events being held across the country on May 28th in
celebration of National Multiple Births Awareness Day. This list will be posted on our website
in May. If your chapter or club
would like to have your event listed on this page we encourage you to send the
details (including your chapter logo) of your National Multiple Births Awareness
Day celebration to office@multiplebirthscanada.org
or call 1-866-228-8824. Please send your celebration details by May
20th.
National
Multiple Births Awareness Day is important to our families because it encourages
a better understanding of the individuality and complexity of the multiple-birth
relationship. Further, it focuses on a single theme each year in order to
educate those who are not familiar with the multiple-birth experience. MBC
believes that helping others to understand the journeys we travel will create
awareness and lead to opportunities for the entire Canadian multiple-birth
community.
