June 2006 Board Activity Report is
intended to inform MBC members of work performed by the Board of Directors on
behalf of all multiple-births individuals, families and supporters in
Canada. It does not include the
many activities coordinated in the business office by our Business Services
Manager or the many worthwhile projects currently being handled by our valuable
national volunteers.

produced minutes for MBC Board Meetings

ICs including Post Conference 2006 Overview, News and Information Update and May
Activity Report

Produced
Director reports and several other articles for the Summer edition of Multiple
Moments
·
Contacted
the Chapter Outreach Committee members to request their continued involvement in
this initiative
·
Welcomed
11 new volunteers to various MBC committees and
positions
·
Liaised
with Conference 2006 committee regarding their wrap-up
reports
·
Liaised
with Conference 2007 committee regarding their programming and
scheduling
·
Continued
work on a new bilingual PR pamphlet
·
Liaised
with a national volunteer who met recently with our Volunteer Lawyer to identify
needs
·
Liaised
with Health and Education committee regarding a new partnership with Invest in
Kids
·
Reviewed
the Terms of Reference and Work Plan for the Health and Education
Committee
·
Received
donation from Serono Canada for $2500.00
·
Continued
discussions and plans for the 2007 NMBAD theme
·
Began
work on the project in conjunction with Advisory Board Member Cathy Barr from
Imagine Canada-Calculating the Economic Value of MBC's
Volunteers

Completed
additional research into companies offering an email distribution
program
·
Revised
and updated membership letter to send to new and renewing MBC
members
·
Approved
the purchase of a new printer for the Business
Office
·
Revised
BSM contract for additional compensation funded by donation from
Serono
·
Finalized
and approved outstanding Board minutes
·
Finalized
and approved the AGM minutes
·
Assisted
a doctoral candidate from the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta
needing participants for her IVF study
·
Discussed
the need to update MBC publications and identified the need to form a committee
for this project
·
Managed the online
forums
·
Contributed to a
variety of on-going discussions, handled all MBC correspondence and requests for
assistance from external inquiries, members, volunteers and Chapters.
