Monthly Activity Report

Wasaga Beach, ON: Multiple Births Canada (MBC) is pleased to provide ongoing updates to its members, chapters and colleagues. Your commitment to Supporting Multiple Births Together is of great importance to Canada’s multiple-birth community.

This July 2006 Board Activity Report is intended to inform MBC members of work performed by the Board of Directors on behalf of all multiple-births individuals, families and supporters in Canada. It does not include the many activities coordinated in the business office by our Business Services Manager or the many worthwhile projects currently being handled by our valuable national volunteers.

Planned for, held, and produced minutes for MBC Board Meeting.
Produced the June Activity Report
Finalized the wording of the new bilingual PR pamphlet
Liaised with Advisory Board Member, Dr. Louis Keith, about the development of a new Fact Sheet on zygosity determination
Liaised with Chapter Outreach Committee which will re-convene its discussions in September
Liaised with the Health and Education Committee regarding the Terms of Reference and Work Plan for upcoming year
Finalized theme for the 2007 NMBAD theme (see the August News and Information IC)
Responded to media requests from the Montreal Journal and Today’s Parent
Began analyzing impact the potential possibility of including Multiple Moments with MBC membership dues
Discussed information to be sent to MBC Chapters in a September mail out
Corresponded with expectant Moms in Canada and the UK
Monitored email for the MBC office while the Business Office Manager was on vacation
Made inquiries into new providers for MBC member discounts
Managed the online forums
Contributed to a variety of on-going discussions, handled all MBC correspondence and requests for assistance from external inquiries, members, volunteers and Chapters

Multiple Births Canada and Mount Sinai Hospital’s Multiple Birth DVD Project

Multiple Births Canada is pleased to announce that we have forged a partnership with Mount Sinai Hospital to produce an educational video/DVD for parents expecting multiple-birth children. It is anticipated that this DVD will become a valuable educational resource for prenatal educators, parenting groups, and individual families. The initial work in the partnership will focus on learner needs assessment to ensure that the DVD content meets the needs of our intended audience, and on fundraising to cover the costs of the DVD development.
