This
August 2005 Board Activity Report
is intended to inform MBC members of work performed by the Board of Directors on
behalf of all multiple-births individuals, families and supporters in
Canada. It does not include the
many activities coordinated in the business office by our Business Services
Manager or the many worthwhile projects currently being handled by our valuable
national volunteers.

Held
a board meeting on MSN to discuss ongoing business.
·
Worked
on the Fall Report from National.
·
Worked
on new articles for Multiple Moments.
·
Worked
on the Annual Report
·
Worked
on the Back to Basics Conference 2005 wrap-up report.
·
Liaised
with the Chatham-Kent chapter hosts of National Conference
2006.
·
Continued
discussions with two groups wanting to host National Conference
2007.
·
Began
discussions for a western chapter exchange and the potential of having a
conference in the west in 2008.
·
Prepared
IC’s to share upcoming MBC news along with news on a number of health and safety
issues.
·
Prepared
survey for National Multiple Births Awareness Day evaluation.
·
Reviewed
the operating guidelines for Health and Education committee.
·
Worked
with and responded to a number of issues in conjunction with the Health and
Education committee
·
Continued
planning the board’s fall interim meeting.
·
Sent
letter to Super Nanny Television Show on behalf of NOMOTC and MBC alerting them
to MBC resources and requesting that both organizations’ contact information be
included in the credits of the shows portraying families of
multiples.
·
Welcomed
a new chapter – Quinte
Parents of Multiples – a community near Trenton and
Belleville
·
Handled
immediate requests for the Business Office during a two-week holiday of our
Business Services Manager.
·
Investigated
options for video-conferencing upcoming conferences and cost effective methods
for Board meetings via teleconferencing.
·
Established
role and work to be completed by the new Volunteer
Coordinator.
·
Working
with the Canadian Perinatal Network to supply a speaker for a September meeting
in Toronto on behalf of MBC.
·
Handled
all MBC correspondence and requests for assistance from a number of MBC
Chapters.
