Conference Chapter Exchange Workshops – sharing topics…

On the afternoon of September 18th, MBC will be hosting two Chapter Exchange Workshops simultaneously in order to support all of the chapter volunteers who are attending the national conference to expand their chapter support and personal volunteer education. Below is a description of the topics which will be sure to flow into exciting conversations. Make sure your Chapter is represented!

Clothing Sales and Other Fundraising Ideas

Join us to discuss the most popular topic of MBC Chapters: “Clothing Sales & Other Fundraising Ideas”! We will hear presentations from several Chapters with innovative ideas for running their used clothing and equipment sales and fundraisers. Windsor/Essex County POMBA will be sharing the free computer program which has revolutionalized their sales! Kitchener-Waterloo POMBA will explain the dynamics of their growing sale. Learn about how London Multiple Births Association combines fundraising with their clothing sale. Multiple Births Guelph-Wellington will share some of their fundraising ideas with us as well as other presentations and plenty of discussion!  By the end, you will have plenty of new and fabulous ideas to share with your Chapter!

Programs, Initiatives and Resources that Work!

A plethora of information will be shared in this broad-based workshop! MBC will inform us of the wealth of information and resources available to us as MBC Chapters & Members. Several Chapters have ideas to share that may just be the new great idea to try with your own Chapter. Saskatoon Parents of Twins & Triplets Association will tell us about how they changed their membership renewal process. Several Chapters will share how they support new & expectant parents and Fredericton will share about renting nursing pillows with new babies. Temiskaming Multiple Births will explain their success with outreach to their community. Come, connect and learn about some great Chapter ideas!

Remember, if you have topics you want to discuss at the Chapter Exchanges, it is your time to ask, share, comment and learn! Chapter Exchanges can be the most valuable workshop to your Chapter as you gain knowledge that you can take back to your own group!

The Bay – The Giving Day – Saturday November 1, 2008

On Saturday, November 1st, we invite you to join us for The Giving Day to help raise funds for Multiple Births Canada.

The Giving Day is a one-day, exclusive shopping event to be held at all Bay stores across Canada on November 1st. Simply by purchasing a coupon for $5, you will be entitled to an extra 15% off almost everything in store – just in time for the holiday season!

Coupon holders can also enter a draw for a chance to win a $2,500 pre-holiday makeover or one of five $100 Hbc Gift Cards. The day promises to feature plenty of entertainment, special events and much more!

Our organization gets to keep the $5 from each coupon we sell, helping to raise much-needed funds for Multiple Births Canada.  It’s a win-win situation!

We hope you will join us for The Giving Day. To purchase your coupons, and those for your family and friends, please contact Jennifer Dawson, at jdawson@multiplebirthscanada.org.  As well, if you are attending the MBC national Conference and AGM starting late next week, Jennifer will have coupons available in exchange for donations throughout the conference weekend.  (Because the Business Office is extremely busy planning the Conference, we are not offering the coupons through the website or the Office.  We appreciate your understanding).

Multiple Births Canada and Mount Sinai Hospital’s Multiple Birth DVD Project

Multiple Births Canada is pleased to announce that we have forged a partnership with Mount Sinai Hospital to produce an educational video/DVD for parents expecting multiple-birth children.  It is anticipated that this DVD will become a valuable educational resource for prenatal educators, parenting groups, and individual families.  The initial work in the partnership will focus on learner needs assessment to ensure that the DVD content meets the needs of our intended audience, and on fundraising to cover the costs of the DVD development.

If you are interested in making a financial contribution to the project, please forward your cheque to:
