30th Anniversary Fundraiser
and Photo Contest
Multiple Births Canada (MBC) is holding a Photo Contest to raise funds for a very special 30th Anniversary Celebration at the MBC National Conference on October 16-19, 2008.
Contest Theme:
Multiple-Birth Children
— 30-Years in the Making!
MBC is soliciting photo entries of Canadian multiple-birth children born between 1978–2008. These pictures can represent multiples at any age–from birth to 30-years-old.
Eligibility:
This contest is open to members of Multiple Births Canada (MBC) and its Affiliate MBC Chapter members ONLY. For information on becoming a member of Multiple Births Canada, click here.
Contest Period:
April 1st, 2008 - June 30th, 2008 (extended to August 1st)
Prizes:

The First Prize winner will have their winning picture on the cover (colour) of the 30th Anniversary Special Edition of Multiple Moments (Quarterly Issue 3, 2008), displayed on the home page of the MBC Website and receive a free two-year print subscription to Multiple Moments.

The Second Prize winner will have their winning picture used in the body (black & white) of the 30th Anniversary Special Edition of Multiple Moments (Quarterly Issue 3, 2008) and receive a free two-year electronic subscription to Multiple Moments.

The Third Prize winner will have their winning picture used in the body (black & white) of the 30th Anniversary Special Edition of Multiple Moments (Quarterly Issue 3, 2008) and receive a free one-year electronic subscription to Multiple Moments.
Other entries may be used as a photo spread inside the 30th Anniversary Special Edition of Multiple Moments, future editions of Multiple Moments, and on the MBC website.
Winners' Announcement: On September 1st, 2008, the winners’ names will be posted on this website.
Entry Format:
All submissions must be original, unpublished photographs, in black and white or colour, with no "image enhancement" or manipulation to the entries. Pictures by professional photographers cannot be accepted unless accompanied by a signed waiver from the photographer (see Official Entry Form below).
All photo entries must be submitted (attached to an email) in electronic format with the following dimensions:
- 1800 x 1200 pixels (minimum size);
- Electronic format (.jpg, .raw, .tif, .bmp);
- 300 DPI resolution
Please Note: Prints of photos will not be accepted.
Entry Fees:
This photo contest has been designed as a fundraiser for MBC to assist with the expenses associated with the 30th Anniversary Celebrations. As such, we are asking contestants to remit the following entry fee when submitting photos.
Please submit $10 per photo entry.
Entry fees can be paid either by sending a cheque made payable to Multiple Births Canada and mailed to:

Be sure to note which photo it matches with.
Entry Form:
Please complete the Official Entry Form, (Word format) attach it to an email with the subject line “MBC Photo Contest”, sending both the entry form and the photo(s) to office@multiplebirthscanada.org by June 30, 2008. Entry forms can also be faxed to (705) 429-9809 describing which photo it matches with.
Rights:
- By signing the Entry Form, contestants confirm they are the copyright holders of the submitted images and will hold Multiple Births Canada harmless from any breach of copyright in Canada or elsewhere.
- Winners also give Multiple Births Canada the right to use winning images in the publication of the 30th Anniversary Special Edition of Multiple Moments, in future Multiple Moments editions and/or on the MBC website, in future MBC publications and in any other promotions related to Multiple Births Canada.

By submitting an entry to this contest, contestants have agreed to donate the images to Multiple Births Canada’s image library, where Multiple Births Canada will have rights to use the donated images for any purpose.

Multiple Births Canada will include proper credit to the photographer whenever an image is used.
Judging:
A panel of 3-5 judges will judge and select the winning images for Multiple Moments. Other entries may be shared within Multiple Moments, posted on the MBC website or used in future MBC promotional material or resources at the discretion of the Multiple Moments Editor, Business Office Manager, Board of Directors, and its national volunteers.
Responsibility:
Multiple Births Canada cannot be held responsible for entries that are lost or delayed through the Internet, or received after the deadline. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are in violation of the contest rules and regulations. Entry refunds are negotiable on an as-needed basis due to validity, etc.
Acceptance of Rules and Regulations:
By participating in the contest, contestants accept and agree to all contest rules and regulations, and accept all decisions of Multiple Births Canada regarding any aspect of the contest, which shall be final and binding in all respects.
