These interactive classes are designed for parents expecting more than one baby. It is a 10-hour class that prepares parents for birthing and caring for two or more little ones.
Topics include:
- preparing for a multiple birth
- preterm labour

- comfort measures in labour and delivery
- postpartum adjustments
- breast- and formula-feeding
- basic baby care
- community resources
A reunion class will be held after all the babies are born. Partners and other support people are strongly encouraged to come to every class. This is a hands-on course. If you are on bed-rest, please contact me regarding a private class.

Camilla is a Registered Nurse, Canadian Certified Childbirth Educator and past Prenatal Coordinator and Educator with the Multiple Births Families Association of Ottawa/Gatineau. She is the mother of 4 year old twins born at 33 weeks gestation. Camilla has taught prenatal extensively to families expecting both singletons and multiples as a Public Health Nurse and as well as in her private childbirth & lactation consulting practice. Camilla has been accepted to write the international board exams to become an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) in July of 2009. She provides breastfeeding/lactation consulting services post-partum tailored to meet the needs of mother’s of multiples.
Multiple Reasons philosophy acknowledges that each birthing experience is unique and therefore, your childbirth education should be unique and tailored to your specific needs and concerns. Private prenatal & breastfeeding classes are offered in your own home. Camilla also offers post-partum lactation consulting services tailored to meet the needs of multiple births. - Marvellous Multiples - 4 prenatal classes for couples expecting twins, triplets or more. This is an opportunity to meet other couples who are facing the unique experience of a pregnancy with multiples. The classes cover the emotional and physical challenges during pregnancy, the variations of labour, birth and recovery and provides practical information to build your confidence in caring for and living with more than one baby. A hospital orientation, a prenatal class specific for women who want to breastfeed their multiples (see below) and a postpartum class are included in the fee. (Total of 6 classes). - A Breastfeeding Class for Mothers Expecting Multiples - This two hour class provides in depth information for pregnant women expecting multiples on how to get breastfeeding started positively. Women are encouraged to bring their partner's to this class. This class is included in the cost of the Marvellous Multiples series.
