Collier Street Cooperative Playgroup

The Collier Street Cooperative Playgroup is now accepting new members from the ages of 1 year to Grade 1. Located in the gym at the Collier St. United Church (near City Hall) every Mon. and Wed. 9:15 am to 11:00 am. Established since 1977 this nonprofit volunteer group has been growing strong and many children have enjoyed the activities available. No religion is involved. Children have the opportunity to enjoy developing gross and fine motor skills, social skills, a large variety of toys for all ages, a craft at each session and other creative outlets. (The gym is set up with barriers so that small babies can attend with toddler siblings. This would be an ideal arrangement for that need as well as the need for busy children to go go go.) Parental/caregiver accompaniment means that everyone participates in the fun of each playgroup. For more information please call Marianne at (705) 725-1246.  (Back to top)

Mothers of Tots

A morning break for mother & child. Mothers leave your children with volunteers, while you go up stairs for a break, some adult conversation and a chance to enrich your parenting skills. The group meets every second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 9:30am to 11am. This is a free program sponsored by Collier Street United. Located in the Church (go in the main entrance). For more information call the church at 726-1511.  (Back to top)
