Mission:

Welcome to the Kitchener-Waterloo Parents of Multiple Births Association (K-W POMBA) website - a resource for families of multiple births and people interested in multiples. Our mission is to provide guidance and support to families of multiples, and to help educate expectant parents about multiple births so they can be prepared for their new life adjustment.

Volunteeer Board Members Needed

We are currently looking for volunteers who can help with the newsletter Editor Position as well as the Socials. If you are interested in learning more, please email kitchenerwaterloo@multiplebirthscanada.org or check out the most recent newsletter which has a break down of job duties.

**NEW **We have an immediate need for someone to assist in Socials. We have split the Social Director position into two spots, and so we just need someone to fill the other half of this very important role. Please email kitchenerwaterloo@multiplebirthscanada.org if you are interested.

Message Forums:

After much discussion, a message forum has been created! The need has been recognized that new and expectant moms of multiples were looking for extra support and who better to connect with than other new moms of multiples in the association?! The intention of the forum is to support one another and to cheer each other on collectively.

Membership:

K-W POMBA is a Member Chapter of Multiple Births Canada/Naissances multiples Canada, the only national support organization for multiple birth families. Membership in K-W POMBA is open to families in the Kitchener/Waterloo area with multiples or expecting multiples.

Annual Membership includes the following benefits:

• opportunities to attend informative monthly meetings throughout the year, which includes support from other multiple parents, guest speakers, or social events
• K-W POMBA newsletter, REFLECTIONS, published six times yearly
• early shopping privileges and participation in our used clothing and equipment sales
• opportunities to attend various social functions (playgroups, summer picnic, Christmas party, Easter egg hunt, etc.)
• free access to our library of books and resource materials
• listing of local discount and coupon programs, including admission tickets to major local tourist attractions at greatly reduced rates
• access to services by K-W POMBA's Peer Health Workers, including expectant parent meetings, home visits after the arrival of your multiples, and borrowing equipment (example: triple strollers or breastfeeding pillows)
• access to our many member supports in areas such as breastfeeding, prematurity, higher order multiples, DNA testing, bed rest, help line/hospital visits, c-section, colic, and loss of a multiple
• membership with Multiple Births Canada/Naissances multiples Canada, the only national support organization for multiple birth families, which gets you discounts on conference registration fees, national publications and other special products and resources

Membership fees are due in September and cost $30.00. If you join after January 1, fees are prorated to $25.00 for the balance of the membership year. Memberships can be purchased at the monthly meeting, used clothing and equipment sale, or by completing and mailing in a membership form. Cheques should be made payable to K-W POMBA.

If you or your company are interested in placing an advertisement in our newsletter, REFLECTIONS, please contact us at the address or email listed above. Circulation to our members is approximately 125 families in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, all with multiples. Prices range from $5 (for a business card sized ad) to $20 (for a half page). The newsletter is published 6 times annually.
